There are many avenues to pursue continuing education in personal trainer training. The NFPT, ISSA and NASM are just a few of the many options available. These organizations offer a wide range of programs, many of which are free. You can advance your career by choosing the right program.

NFPT

The NFPT is a certification and continuing education organization for fitness professionals. The program's certification focuses on safety and practical training, as well as basic principles of fitness science. This program is offered worldwide and is completely free. The program includes an exam that tests communication skills, training program design, anatomy &physiology, and fitness.

As a member of the NFPT, you will need to complete several courses every year to keep your certification valid. You can find most of these courses online. They last approximately 60 to 90 minutes depending on the time you have available. Some courses are even available for free, which can make them a great deal cheaper than other certs. Members of the NFPT can also access free online retests in order to verify their understanding on new material.

NASM

The NASM personal trainer certification program is based upon scientific research and expert fitness experience. The program is also compatible with occupational competency standards. There are three modules in the curriculum that cover movement assessment, nutrition, and human movement science. ISSA
